Tips for Success - Dr Jim Kaseman

Scripture tells us that He who endures to the end shall be saved (Matt. 10:22; Mark 13:13). To date, I have over forty years of ministry and countless opportunities throughout the years NOT to endure to the end. For me, four simple thoughts have kept me on the narrow road to victory (Matt. 7:13-14).

First of all, I refuse to COMPARE myself with any other person or ministry. Each one of us and each ministry is uniquely different and vital to the body of Christ (I Cor. 12:12-27). I was at a conference in the 1980’s where, with very short notice, I was asked to stand in for T.L. Osborn for two nights. This was no time for the stadium full of people or me to even begin to compare myself with T.L. Osborn. I could only say, “I’m not T.L. Osborn. As Jim Kaseman, I can only minister to you with what God has put in me to do.”

Second, I’m not called into ministry to COMPETE with any other ministry. God has a specific purpose for each ministry. The race that God has called me to run is with me. Will I endure to the end and finish the race God has called me to run? The only competition I have is my flesh. As I present my body holy before the Lord, both my flesh and I will endure to the end and finish the race (I Cor. 9:24-27; Gal. 5:16; Romans 12:1-2).

Third, I’ve learned never to COMPLAIN. The children of Israel complained and died (I Cor. 10:1-12). God knows what is best for me. No matter what He asks me to do, I can do it cheerfully knowing heaven is my reward.

Finally, whatever you do, do not COMPROMISE! Too many in the body of Christ have compromised their faith by living like the world. You cannot live a lifestyle of sin and still go to heaven (1 John 3:8-10, II Tim. 2:15). The Apostle Paul kept the faith (II Tim. 4:7b). He refused to pervert or compromise the Word of God all the way to the end. Consequently, “there was laid up for him the crown of righteousness” (II Tim. 4:8a).

Simple tips, but they have played a very important part in my race of endurance for over forty years. And I’m confident they will play a big part in my enduring to the end! Amen!
